Hirschfeld Kraemer Uncorks Wine Country Office With Addition of Former Chico’s Counsel Aura Adams

,

Hirschfeld Kraemer has opened a “Wine Country” office in downtown Napa, a supplement to the firm’s long-time locations in San Francisco and Santa Monica and the first labor and employment-only boutique in the region. We hired a long-time friend of the firm and former client, Aura K. Adams, to head the office.

Adams joins Hirschfeld Kraemer after nearly 12 years with Fort Myers, Fla.-based retailer Chico’s FAS, Inc., where she was Senior Director, Employment Law Counsel, working remotely from Napa. Her in-house experience also includes senior employment law and HR roles with Target Corporation’s Mervyn’s unit.

“Aura’s experience working with some of the nation’s largest retailers provides her a unique insider’s perspective that we are confident our clients will value,” said Stephen J. Hirschfeld, co-managing partner of Hirschfeld Kraemer. “Further, her connections to the thriving Napa, Sonoma, North Bay and Solano County regions give the growing businesses there – as well as larger corporations entering these markets – easy access to smart, practical employment law expertise. ”

Adams has more than 18 years of experience counseling regional and national employers on employment law issues, including wage-and-hour compliance, change management and federal and state compliance. She works with clients to help prevent, manage and defend agency charges and audits, lawsuits and class actions, and to find business-oriented workplace solutions that reduce risk.

“We are excited to expand our California footprint with the addition of a Wine Country office,” said Glen Kraemer, Hirschfeld Kraemer’s co-managing partner in the Southern California area. “This region is a true economic engine for the state with robust wine, restaurant, hospitality, tourism, retail, financial institutions and agribusiness sectors – many of which are already clients. The ability to offer these employers additional and highly experienced resources on the ground and to tap into Aura’s deep and rich connections to these communities promises to be a winning combination.”

Adams’ community involvement includes spearheading and serving as chairperson for “Fork It Over,” an Oxbow District event benefitting Community Action of Napa Valley Food Bank (CANV) that for six-years running has provided support via a one-night reception, dinner and live auction fundraiser. Adams is also a board member of PASCO (North Bay HR Association) and a graduate of “Leadership Napa Valley,” a limited-seat leadership and community engagement program.
