I love working with businesses to help them find creative solutions to achieve their vision, while managing risk.

Cheryl Solomon is of counsel in Hirschfeld Kraemer’s San Francisco office. She previously spent more than a decade working in-house for global luxury and fashion companies. First, she was the Global General Counsel for the Gucci Group (now the Luxury Division of Kering) where she oversaw the global legal affairs of the group and its brands, which included Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Boucheron, and Sergio Rossi, as well as the YSL beauty business. After Gucci Group, she was the first Chief Legal Officer of TOMS Shoes and built an effective and efficient global legal function as the company evolved its strategy and business, added new product lines, and expanded into new geographies.

Cheryl advises both startups and established companies as their outside general counsel, and has extensive international experience. Her areas of focus include strategic legal and business planning, commercial and supply chain operations, global compliance and code of ethics, global intellectual property and licensing, data protection and privacy compliance, international business development, digital and social media, global tax planning and trade compliance, employment and human resources, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate.

She began her legal career as a commercial litigator at major international law firms. An experienced entrepreneur herself, she also founded Row House, a digital knitting platform that sells curated yarns, needles, notions, and kits with a focus on sustainability and provides digital resources and community events to encourage professionals to begin knitting as a way of managing stress whenever works for them.

In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys knitting, theater, and travel.
