I view my role as making my clients’ work lives easier. Whether that is taking an issue entirely off their plate, or working with them to achieve a desired outcome, I strive to be a trusted partner.
Stephanie Butori Ulman is Of Counsel with Hirschfeld Kraemer. Stephanie defends employers in a wide range of sectors with respect to claims for discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, and the like. She spent two years on Secondment with the University of California system during which time she supervised outside employment counsel in litigation across all University campuses and medical centers.
While much of her practice revolves around pre-trial litigation, Stephanie has also taken cases to trial, giving her a first-hand view of how litigated issues can play out at trial. She has also handled complaints and hearings with various government agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the California Civil Rights Department (CRD).
Prior to joining Hirschfeld Kraemer, Stephanie was a Partner with a national defense firm.
Stephanie’s search for a way to give back, along with her love for dogs, led her to Guide Dogs for the Blind. She has served as a Foster Care Provider for program dogs, giving them a loving home for as long as they need. Stephanie is currently a Custodian for a sweet Guide Dog Breeder, whose puppies will go on to be Guide Dogs and serve those in need in our communities.
Stephanie really enjoys travel. She has spent a month in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, for the past three summers to develop her Spanish language skills and those of her daughters. They love Mexico’s easy-going culture, food and watching the afternoon storms roll in.
After calling San Francisco home for many years, Stephanie now lives in Larkspur with her husband and two daughters.
